swiching in and out of buy menu restocks shop.

Should be fixed now :) Thanks for reporting !

noo  my expolitt --!

ngl there are a lot of roguelikes with shop exploits, although it usually comes down to the save system reloading back to before the shop, meaning that if there was any randomized things you could do in the shop, you could typically redo them knowing what will happen due to most roguelikes being seeded, or if they aren't you could reroll it until you get the result that you want, like in dungeon clawer's prize machine. blatro actually patched an exploit where you could "peek" inside a pack by buy it and then quitting out, but it's funny because they fixed it by automatically making you buy the pack (ie. the shop menu briefly appears, and the the buying the pack sequence plays) (balatro actually has a pretty robust save system, it saves after each hand played and after rerolling in the shop). some games like meme mayhem play into this quirk by having a menu button specifically for it before you admit defeat. if you read this far, know that this save and quit exploit is particularly useful in dungeons and degenerate gamblers, where you can use it to predicate certain events especially the coin flip (but you have to be very quick to hit the pause button), the chipcoin and the memory game (there's an easy achievement for you)

as for your game, I don't know if it would have a save and quit exploit, but I don't frankly care. it wouldn't be of any use and the game is too short to have a save system anyway.

This game is addicting

this keeps crashing my computer, but that might be because I have too many tabs open.

now it just became a white screen when I reached the mermaid boss.

Could you give me details about the browser / OS you are using ?
Web games can be troublesome, I will add executables downloads tomorrow

chrome on a Chromebook (the acer kind, but I don't think that would matter)

In bubble poppers like this I usually like when I hit a certain area and it falls cause no other bubble is protecting it

Not sure I understand what you mean. I understand that in most bubble poppers, bubble falls when they get disconnected from the top, but I wanted to tried something different
You might be talking about something else though

yes im talking about that! Oh I see you wanted to try something different. Does feel weird though playing and having a spot that should have fallen still there. Feels like im pointlessly shooting it

I could make a new mage that use this kind of gameplay in a later version just for fun, it's kinda fun seeing big clumps of bubbles falling of

That sounds good!

or a relic (if so, make it like 50g or something)

in most bubble poppers, there is a continuous stream of bubbles that gets pushed down from the top, allowing the shapes to be anchored. that isn't the case here, and it would be unclear where the anchor point should be.

Not a bad try at fusing roguelike mechanics with a puzzle game mechanic. Pixel art is pretty decent, some of the music is a little generic to me but it stays out of your way while you're playing, so not much harm done. The biggest downside, though, is that the demo here at least is piss easy for anyone that is good at this kind of game (like myself). Especially if you get the needle power-up, any boss attack that shuffles the bubbles around becomes a near auto-win because after your shot the needle wipes them all out. I'm guessing that's known about and is why the needle is expensive, but still. Even on the regular levels it simplifies things a lot.

I never got in serious health trouble playing with that bomb guy during any of the playthroughs. That 2 bomb + gunpowder is a big boost to the point that honestly maybe it could do with a nerf to one bomb on harder difficulties.

Another thing is that there really isn't much in the way of *wow* in terms of playing, especially with bosses. It could do with some effects when they, let's say plant a piece onto the board it zaps on, or when it shuffles the bubbles shift around all crazy-like.

Maybe the full version does have that and it's just a demo thing, but despite the nitpicks it's still fun enough to spend 30 minutes on, which for a casual puzzle game in the modern era is an achievement on its own. If it was 5 bucks or so I wouldn't feel cheated purchasing the full game.

Thank you for the detailed feedback ! The shuffling boss / needle could use a bit of balancing. It's very nice to get feedback from avid bubble-poppers players, I will try and make hard modes more challenging

But fear not, the other mages will absolutely give you the difficulty you require ;)

I like the core game, but the items don't feel impactful or distinct enough and the hard mode is too easy.

automatic destruction lonely orb + destruction magic = MVP

The final boss can be cheesed by buying the needle. Other then that the game is awesome!

Like it. Funny that the bell doesn't take up inventory space but requires a free spot to be purchased.

Glad you liked it ! Actually a bug, fixed it but didn't update the demo yet. Same issue with the health potion

Really cool man!

by the way in the shop if you switch from buy to sell after buying something the shop refreshes

Ahah yeah realized that earlier today

1, What does Slime do? My aim actually seems faster.

2. Is MultiOrb single-use?

I got 3 Gold Nuggets so far and I still can't get over 15 coins per level...

Is there a way to slow down the "Cannon"?

I finished the demo. It's good enough to try but I worry that there's too much against the player. My guess is is that Bosses aren't meant to be cleared, just survived.

Will look into the Slime, it's supposed to be the way to slow down your "cannon". Multi orb is single use but like bombs you get a Multi Orb on every level (like an extra spell).
Weird, will look into gold nuggets as well... Thanks for the detailed feedback !

Bosses can be tough yeah ;)

(1 edit)

Gold nuggets are not bugged, you get +3 coins per gold nugget, and every level starts with 5 base coins. So having less than 15 coins with 3 nuggets in the inventory is to be expected (5 + 3x3 = 14). I will change the item description to make this clearer

Can I just confirm: Multi-orb is not a single use expendable. You just get one shot per level.
If it is single-use, I would mark it as so, is all.

grey screen after first playthrough... wanted to see second character

Deleted 36 days ago

Should be fixed now :) Since saving is quite a hassle on WebGl, I removed it and made it so the second mage is unlocked by default on the demo version

first time playing and i already love it! Great job at mking the game

(+3)

This is awesome!  I could tell by just the description I was going to like it but it's just very well done.

I lost once and got stuck on gray screen when restarting, got past it by clearing my cookies, then won once and hit the gray screen again

Looks like the save system is bugged on WebGL, will try and find a workaroudn ! Sorry about that folks

(+6)

I played through once, died (since I was still getting the hang of it, of course).  Now when I hit "play" on the title screen, it takes me to...nothing.  Gray stone background, arches, no option to choose a character and start.  That seems like a bug? :-)

Nice job! I really enjoyed playing through the demo. I'll wishlist! My only gripe would be that there were two levels where I kept getting orbs that the only same color orbs were completely blocked by a different color. I ended up losing over 20hp both times for something that was unavoidable. I never received the color i needed to unblock them. I know thats just bad rng, but it would be nice to not get a color that is impossible to use.
